Calpulli Children's Dance Workshop, Saturdays from 11 AM - 1 PM

Calpulli Mexican Dance Co. announces the 2009 summer session of its children's dance workshop to be held may through August in Queens. The award-winning program serves children 4 to 8 years and 8 to 15 years of age with culturally enriching classes based on traditional Mexican dance. The classes focus on regional dances along with lessons in history, movement fundamentals, esteem building, and teamwork. The program is funded by voluntary donations. All families are invited to bring their children to this unique arts experience made up of fun, exercise, and learning. In July, an additional class will take place on Mondays from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Arts Cure Center to coincide with summer vacations. The session is planned to conclude with a public performance on August 1st at the Langston Hughes Library in Corona, Queens.

Free Dance Workshops All Year Long

Mexicanos Unidos de Queens and the Ballet Folklorico Telpochtli invites the whole community and all the children who want to learn Mexican Folklore, Folkloric Dances, and Mexican Dances for free.

Mexicanos Unidos de Queens y Ballet Folklorico Telpochtli invita a toda la comunidad, y a todos los niños que quieran aprender Folklor Mexicano, Bailes Folkloricos y Danzas de Mexico gratis.

All year long, during these days (Durante todo el Año, Dias de ensayo):
Children: Wednesdays and Fridays (Miercoles y Viernes) from 6:30p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Adults: Mondays and Thursdays (Lunes y Jueves) from 6:30 pm. to 8:30 p.m.

Mano a Mano Presents: Mexicanidad

Mexicanidad is a new program of Mexican arts and culture at the historic Brooklyn Music School where classes for singers, dancers, and musicians of all ages will be taught by an outstanding faculty of New York-based teachers and performers. Classes will be on four weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons, to beginners and experienced students.
