Since its inception in New York City in 1921, the Northeast Chapter of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce has been always committed to foster mutually beneficial trade, business and investments between both countries.
It is undeniable that the enactment and implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has brought a significant array of economic benefits to the three signatories of the Agreement: The United States, Mexico and Canada.
We acknowledge and understand the need and advantages of a review and renegotiation of NAFTA aimed to modernize and update the Agreement for the benefit of the signing countries and their populations. Thus we support a revision and modernization of the Agreement that convey mutual respect and promote common economic benefit for the region.
I recognize that the specific needs and concerns of our Members regarding NAFTA might be individually addressed by each of them, however, I consider important that as President of the Northeast Chapter I should express our unequivocal support to the continuation and modernization of NAFTA.
President of the Northeast Chapter
