Mexico is an open economy with a great number of commercial agreements that give the country preferential access to important international markets in the US, Canada, Japan and the European Union. In addition, Mexico is projected to become one of the five greatest economies in the world in the next 40 years. This is one of many reasons that Mexico is an important destination for foreign investment.

As part of the chapter’s expansion, the USMCOC-NE together with the Northern New Jersey Office of The U.S. Department of Commerce's Commercial Service organized an informative seminar about doing business with Mexico. The panelists share their expertise on imports-exports regulations as well as the legal framework, technical regulations on consumer’s information and specific standards on products.
