Continental Airlines announced new nonstop seasonal
service between IAH and Rio de Janeiro (RIO), Brazil.
The new service will operate three times weekly from
Dec. 17, 2008, through Feb. 28, 2009. Flights will
depart Houston on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
at 9 p.m. The return flights will depart from RIO on
Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

DCI recently released its report "A View from
Corporate America: Winning Strategies in Economic
Development Marketing" which is the fifth
installment in a series of surveys of senior U.S.
executives and their advisors. Key findings, based
on the aggregate responses of 281 participants,
include the most effective marketing techniques in
economic development to the use of the internet in
site location decisions to executive perceptions of
the best business climates in the United States and
the world. China, India and Mexico were selected by
U.S. executives as the three most favorable
countries for investment. Mexico earned its third
spot on the list for its “Proximity to the United
States” (52%), “Labor (Cost, quality)” (50%), “Low
overall/operating costs” (21%) and “Business
friendly/ opportunities” (21%).
