Calpulli Mexican Dance Co. presents the 3rd and
final session in 2008 of its donation-based
children's dance program. The award-winning program
introduces children to the richness of Mexican
culture and history through dance and movement.
Training includes fundamentals and regional

WITHOUT BORDERS
Mano a Mano invites you to our 5th annual community
celebration of Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead at
St. Mark's Church in the Bowery. This four day event,
which runs from October 30- November 2 includes
altar building, a dance procession, workshops in
making Sugar Skulls, Pan de Muertos Bread, various
Paper Craft traditions and writing Calaveras poetry.
There will be musical performances by Semilla and
the Mariachi Tapatio of Alvaro Paulino and a
dramatic presentation by La Carpa. Delicious food
provided by vendors from Esperanza del Barrio, this
is an event the whole family will enjoy. St. Marks
is located at the corner of 10th Street and Second
Avenue in the Lower East Side. Visit

Posadas y Pastorelas is Mano a Mano's 4th annual
Family Celebration of Mexican Christmas traditions
at the Museum of City of New York in El Barrio. Join
us on Sunday, December 14th for an afternoon of fun:
learn how to make tamales and punch, make a piñata
and learn traditional holiday songs. There is a
neighborhood singing procession, the Posada, and a
frolicking Shepherds' play, the Pastorela. The event
is capped off with a joyful party with live music, a
big piñata and aguinaldo "goody bags" for all the
kids. The Museum is located at Fifth Avenue and

Mano a Mano was a curatorial partner with the Queens
Museum for the exhibition Pedro Meyer: Heresies,
which runs from October 12, 2008 - January 4, 2009.
Pedro Meyer is a premiere Mexican photographer, and
an innovative documentarian. Mano a Mano selected
photos that resonate with our mission to celebrate
