THE USMCOC-NE
LAUNCHES ITS NEW WEBSITE!
Dear Members,
We are delighted to announce that the U.S.
Mexico Chamber of Commerce Northeast Chapter
has just launched its new website at
www.usmcocne.org.
As you will notice, this new website
displays a contemporary design with various
interactive features and solid contents on
interesting topics regarding the economic
and commercial relations between the United
States and Mexico. We have developed several
new sections and contents. Among them, we
have included a new section that provides
our visitors with information about trade
and investments between the U.S and Mexico.
The newly designed website also includes a
networking platform for Mexican young
professionals that will provide them with
the opportunity to expand their connections
in the Northeast region in the United States.
We are also in the process of adding Mexico
tourism resources to the website, as well as
a link to Mexican restaurants in New York,
so stay tuned for these new sections.
We would like to invite all our members to
take advantage of this new space to
advertise your company among the vibrant U.S.-Mexico
business community. For more information
about advertising packages please contact us
at 212-471-4702 or
isabel@usmcocne.org.

On July 24th the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce,
Northeast Chapter (USMCOC-NE), had its III Annual
Mexico Real Estate Investment Forum which consisted
on four panels with 11 high level speakers that
shared their expertise on the current situation of
the real estate market in Mexico, changes in the tax
and legal framework of real estate investments, the
evolution of Mexican REITS and other real estate
investment vehicles, as well as on opportunities in
the housing, commercial and industrial sectors, and
many other relevant real estate investments topics.
The USMCOC-NE organized its traditional annual
Summer Networking Reception on August 7th in the
restaurant Havana Central. It was great to see many
familiar faces that have found in the Chamber not
only a great platform for business development, but
also for having fun. We were also pleased to have
several new young people in the reception

Zarela Restaurant
Dia de Muertos Celebration – (Article by Zarela
Martinez, chef-owner of Zarela Restaurant)
To Mexicans, the holiday of Los Dias de los Muertos
is neither ghoulish nor morbid. It is a joyous
celebration of memory and an opportunity to catch up
on those who are dear to you as Johnny Carson was to
Zarela. Traditional ofrendas (offerings) placed on
Los Dias de los Muertos altar often consist of the
deceased’s favorite food, any creature comforts the
person might be missing in the next life and a
picture of the loved one. In keeping with tradition,
Zarela will honor Johnny by placing mementos of his
life on her altar.
