Our total dividend payout to policyowners in 2007 is $4.63 billion. We’re proud to say that’s $360 million more than last year. It’s a total that should keep us firmly atop the life insurance industry in dividends paid*. And, for the third straight year, we’ll also pay a dividend interest rate of 7.5% on unborrowed funds on most permanent life insurance policies**.
What makes this possible? As a mutual company, we’re completely committed to our policyowners. It’s with their interests in mind that we work hard to minimize operating expenses and maximize investment returns.

** The policy dividend and the underlying dividend interest rate are not guaranteed beyond 2007. They are reviewed annually and are subject to change by the Company’s Board of Trustees. The dividend interest rate credits interest on policy values after mortality and expense charges have been deducted. It is not a measure of the policy’s internal rate of return on cash values.
