The Top Mexican Restaurants
and Caterers in NYC were featured in the USMCOC
Independence Day Celebration
On September 16, 2005 members and guests of the
Chamber had the opportunity to taste a sample of
signature dishes of the Top Mexican Restaurants and
caterers of the New York Area. The event resulted in
a culinary experience pared with the best Mexican
beers from Cerveceria Modelo and Tequila Don Julio.
More than 350 guests enjoyed the event, which had
the presence of the Consul General of Mexico in New
York, Arturo Sarukhán who made the honors during the
traditional “Grito” ceremony. To put the finishing
touch to a festive atmosphere, the Mariachi band and
a soprano and tenor singers delivered a unique
performance of Mexican music.

Rosa Mexicano Opens at
Union Square
Rosa Mexicano opens a new restaurant at 9 East 18
Street, near Union Square. Under the supervision of
culinary director Roberto Santibañez and corporate
chef Ivy Stark, the menu will include signature

Meeting of Project LINK-United Nations

presented the “Mexican Economic Outlook 2005-2010”
in the World Macroeconometric Meeting of Project
LINK-United Nations held in Geneva, Switzerland, on
November 1-2, 2005. CKF also published the paper “On
the Use of High-Frequency Economic Information to
Anticipate the Quarterly GDP”.
