Mexican Government
launches ProMexico, a new entity to promote
trade and attract foreign investment.
On June 13th the Government of
Mexico officially launched ProMexico, a new
entity to promote trade and attract foreign
investment. The agency, which is constituted
by a partnership between federal, state and
local governments, along with the private
sector, is taking over Mexico's business
promotional network that had been handled
for 70 years by Bancomext (the Mexican Bank
for Foreign Trade). ProMexico will manage
programs and strategies to coordinate
marketing efforts and the opening of new
markets for the country. ProMexico has a
network of 24 offices strategically located
within Mexico and, is in charge of the Trade
Commissioner Services that comprises 32
representations located in main countries
around the world.
