Alexis E. Rovzar,
Managing Committee
Alexis E. Rovzar is Executive Partner in
charge of the Latin America Practice of
White & Case, based in the New York office.
Mr. Rovzar specializes in international
financial transactions as well as corporate
and banking law. He has also served as
advisor to investment bankers, lenders,
creditors and investors in connection with
debt and equity transactions, mergers and
acquisitions, project financing, leasing
transactions, recapitalizations, co-investments,
private equity and joint ventures.
Throughout the past 30 years, Mr. Rovzar has
been involved in most of the major public
and private sector financial transactions
and debt restructuring in Mexico.
Mr. Rovzar has also been involved in a
variety of international transactions
ranging from debt/equity investments (swaps),
start-up telecommunications, internet and
other projects, sale/acquisition of existing
Mexican companies, agro-industrial sourcing
projects, project financing for hydro
electrical and other infrastructure projects,
to aircraft and other equipment lease
financing. Mr. Rovzar, as an Executive
Partner, works with many of the other Firm's
offices around the world on growing and
increasing complex financial dealings with
Mexico as well as elsewhere in the world.
An investment banker from 1988 to 1994, Mr.
Rovzar has also served as a chief executive
or member of senior management for several
portfolio companies. Currently, he serves on
the boards of directors of private and
publicly owned companies such as Fomento
Económico Mexico (FEMSA); Coca-Cola Femsa (KOF),
the largest Coca-Cola bottler in the world
outside of the U.S.; Grupo Bimbo, America's
largest bakery and Mexico's most admired
corporation and Grupo COMEX, the country's
largest paint manufacturer and Compañia
Occidental Mexicana (COMSA) as well as
several other leading private Mexican
companies. He is also a member of the
advisory boards of Ray and Berndtson de
México and Grupo ACIR, Mexico's leading
radio conglomerate and has recently been
elected to the Board of The Bank of Nova
Scotia headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
